Know where a file came from, and what it says, before you share it
Every photo, PDF, song and video carries a second layer of information you never see on screen. A phone photo records where it was taken. A PDF keeps the name of whoever made the template. A video stores the phone model and the second you pressed record. An AI image can hold the prompt you typed and a signed record of the tool that made it. Toolvy’s AI and privacy tools read that layer to help you judge whether a file was made with AI, show you everything else it reveals, and remove what you choose — all in your browser, so the file is never uploaded. Open your browser’s Network tab while you work and you will see no request carrying it.
Was it made or written with AI?
The AI detector checks images, videos, PDFs, Word files and text, and shows two kinds of evidence side by side. File evidence is what the file declares: Content Credentials signed by OpenAI, Adobe, Google or a camera maker, IPTC AI labels, AI tool names and embedded prompts. The second check runs on your device and reads the content itself: a visual classifier scores the picture — five regions of an image, eight frames of a video — and a text classifier scores the writing in a document, passage by passage. For photos and art, use the AI image detector; for clips from tools such as Sora and Veo, the AI video detector; for essays, PDFs and Word files, the AI text detector. No detector is certain: AI-text detectors in particular misjudge short, formal and non-native English writing, and a missing AI signal doesn’t prove a file is real. Treat the verdict as evidence to weigh — never, on its own, as grounds to accuse anyone.
See everything a file reveals
The metadata viewer lists everything it finds in six groups — AI & provenance, location, device, people, software & dates, and other — and decodes C2PA Content Credentials into plain words: which tool signed the file, what it did and what kind of media it is. Copy the report, or remove the lot in one click.
Remove AI labels, or remove everything
The AI metadata remover and the C2PA remover open in “AI & provenance only” mode: they strip Content Credentials, IPTC AI labels, generator tags and embedded prompts, and keep your camera details, copyright and location. Switch to “Everything” for a completely clean file. Neither touches invisible watermarks such as SynthID — those live in the pixels, not the metadata — and neither changes what platforms expect you to disclose.
Documents, video and audio
The PDF metadata remover rewrites a PDF without its author, title, creator app, dates, XMP and document ID, leaving every page as it was. The video metadata remover strips GPS, recording date, device details and telemetry tracks, and the audio metadata remover clears ID3 tags, comments and cover art — both with a stream copy, so nothing is re-encoded. For a quick photo-only clean-up, the EXIF remover strips GPS and camera data from a picture.
Lossless, and checked
Images lose their metadata at the byte level, so the pixels are bit-for-bit identical; the color profile and orientation flag stay, so a photo looks and sits exactly as before. Every output is inspected again before you download it, so you see what remains instead of hoping it worked.
