5 toolkits, one promise

Every format. One private engine. Every file is processed where it already is — on your device.

How it works

Built for files that should stay private.

When you drop a file, the browser hands the page the bytes already on your disk. A Web Worker runs a real encoder on them, and the result goes straight to your Downloads. Nothing is transmitted, so there is no copy to delete — because no copy was ever made.

How we keep that promise
  • 01

    Nothing is uploaded

Files are opened, processed and saved without crossing the network. There is no copy on a server to leak, log, retain or train on — because there is no server.

  • 02

    Real engines, not toys

MozJPEG, oxipng, libwebp, libavif and ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly — the encoders desktop software uses, running in background threads.

  • 03

One tool hands to the next

Trim a clip, then compress it, then make a GIF. Each result opens in the next tool already loaded — no download and re-upload in between.

  • 04

    Keeps working offline

A tool you have used once keeps working with the network switched off — its code and engine are already on your device.

01

Are my files really not uploaded?

Yes. Every tool decodes, processes and re-encodes your file inside your browser tab — images with WebAssembly builds of the same codecs desktop software uses, audio and video with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, subtitles with plain in-browser text parsing. You can verify it: open your browser DevTools, switch to the Network tab, and process a file. You will see no upload request. You can also disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tools keep working.

02

Is Toolvy free, and where is the catch?

It is free with no signup, no file limits and no watermarks. The site is funded by advertising. Because there is no server doing the processing, there is almost no cost to run, which is exactly why we can afford not to charge you or to upsell a "pro" tier.

03

What is the maximum file size?

The real limit is your device’s memory, not our server, because there is no server. Images up to roughly 100 MB and 80 megapixels work on a mid-range phone. Audio and video run through ffmpeg in your browser’s memory, so short-to-medium clips are the sweet spot; very long or very large videos can be slow, and every tool lets you cancel at any time.

04

Which formats does Toolvy support?

Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG and HEIC in; JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, ICO and PDF out. Video: MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI and GIF. Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG. Subtitles: SRT, VTT, ASS, SBV, SUB, TTML, LRC and plain text.

05

Why does the first audio or video job download something?

The audio and video tools share one media engine — ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, about 10 MB. It downloads once, the first time you use any audio or video tool, and is cached on your device from then on. Image and subtitle tools need nothing extra. Nothing is downloaded until you actually pick a file.

06

Does Toolvy work offline?

After your first visit, yes. The site registers a service worker that caches the interface and the engines you have used, so a tool you have opened once keeps working on a plane with no connection. The tools were never talking to a server anyway.
